Movie Maniac: Beyond Our Imaginations!
Written at Friday, April 23, 2010 | back to top

Yesterday, I watched 2 old movies (during a hot atmosphere), I was just randomly rustling some old DVDs (because I'm bored), so here I'm sharing two old movies that I've watched yesterday, another fantasy movie that I watched on HBO with my big sister (that was last year), and one new where we went to watch it at the cinema.

nah...
The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising. It was good, I like the effects (and with a bit of puberty story in it). I haven't read the book yet, it's said to be a novel though. So a boy named Will is said to be the seeker who will save the world by finding all the Signs (The Signs are said to be Stone, Copper and some of metal stuffs that can be found in periodic table of elements) there's 7 of them and the last Sign is his soul, he has a twin brother named Tom (♥) who's gone missing after their 2 weeks of birth, he was kidnapped by the Rider, he thought he kidnapped Will, instead got the wrong twin, so he imprisoned Tom in a crystal ball. Alexander Ludwig did a pretty good job in the character (plus he cute mehn), I like his powers that he can control light, make fires, levitate stuffs and travel through time.

I rate it... 4 out of 5

Next is a movie about a friendship being made, with a dash of imagination that you both made up and change for who you are.

This made me cry in the end.

(WHEN WILL THIS MOVIE EVER BE SHOWN ON DISNEY CHANNEL!? >:O )
I really love this movie a lot. I haven't read the book, but still this film moved me to tears. So here's the catcher, Jesse meets Leslie at school, after being beaten by her in a race (which he'd train the whole summer, as to be the fastest kid in school), the two became friends and created a magical world beyong their very own eyes in the other side of the river, they were able to travel there by using a rope and swinging across to it. I like how the magical creatures are, also the fight scenes and also the story line. My favorite character here is Leslie, she's cool, hip and I like her style. Too bad the character died, and Jesse had to cry about it. But the ending was still good though, a bit sad about Leslie though.

Movie... 5 of 5 beybeh :P
^^

Y'know, the funniest thing happened, after watching them, I went online and checked it on Wikipedia about the two movies, then I noticed that the two of the lead characters of the two movies (AnnaSopia Robb in Bridge of Terebithia and Alexander Ludwig in The Seeker), the two are cast in the movie Race to Witch Mountain (I'm still gonna watch on that!) So I couldn't help it but laugh it off (Even if I'm using my mom's pc in their room)

And here's the movie that me and my big sister watched on HBO last year. After the Arthur and the Minimoys movie (dubbed in German), my sister couldn't stop loving the character Arthur (in his minimoy form though, which he kinda looks like Bill ;3 , I saw some interesting book in Powerbooks, the book's called "The Spiderwick Chronicles: Caring and Feeding of Sprites" I picked it out of the shelf and checked the cover. I was surprise and had to call my big sis, who's with me that time to show the book and told her.

"SIS! IT'S ARTHUR! HOW DID ARTHUR SHOWED UP IN THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES!?"

The left side is the book cover art.

The Sprite looks like Arthur! o-0!! Right? Well, maybe just a little bit. We even thought that the little sprite is a minimoy

(Oh yeah, while trying to edit that pic, after typing Arthur and the Minimoys, mostly pictures of Bill are shown! XD; )

So we bought the book, (plus Deluxe Edition of Spiderwick Chronicle books, we wanted to buy the Field Guide but the pages were ripped.), after reading the whole thing, I was able to enjoy the book (plus became more weirder.) So, Spiderwick Chronicles and Arthur and the Minimoys are not related, Arthur's surname isn't Spiderwick and we really thought he was related, so cased closed. But what I also like, is that the actor of Arthur and the Minimoys, is the same actor in Spiderwick Chronicles movie (Kyaaaa! XDD)

Freddie Highmore as Jared/Simoun Grace! Twins! XD

What I like in the movie, are those magical creatures, I mean, they're all there. (Well, not that all anyhow -3-) the land troll, the brownie, the goblins and may I say that, the ogre there looks hot. (o.0;;; ) In the book, the ogre named Mulgarath is fat, but in the film, Mulgarath has abs! ABS I TELLS YOU! XDDD But I like the family relationship that's happening there, Jared there is troubled because of his parents divorce, and he found the book called the Field Guide. Every magical creature wants the damn book to rule the world or destroy it. Moral lesson? I do not have any. Sorry ( -3-;) So the only way to see those faeries is a Seeing Stone or a Hobgoblin's spit. (Ew) I finally bought the Field Guide book (It was for my term paper XD) and I made accidents to it, like rip page (^^;)

Movie...
5 out of 5

So, here's the last movie I wanna write about.
We watched the Movie of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Everyone was excited to see it. I like the soundtrack, even Tokio Hotel with Kerli made a song for the film (but it only appeared in the Almost Alice soundtrack)

Even Johnny Depp's here, AY! XD

Nice...♥

I like the 3D, the colors and the backgrounds and mostly, the characters. Favorite character... White Queen, I like how Anne Hathaway made her character like that (with her arms swinging, wheeee). Mia Wasikowska delivered her Alice character cool (-w-), and I like her outfits too. Hee~ But I didn't like the part where Mad Hatter danced, but it was kinda okay heeeheee... Tim Burton really did himself this time! Awesome!

Rate...
4 to 5!

Well, I'm gonna watch Clash of the Titans and Kickass soon, (Hopefully if I have money XD; ) and maybe some other old movies too. :D
